鲁本斯焰管 Rubens' Tube

昨晚看了中央的科教频道的难得的科普节目，就是那个德国的节目，里面展示了神奇的鲁本斯焰管，觉得挺好玩的，今天一搜，一个结果都没有，用英文才搜到。这么有意思的玩意儿有必要介绍一下，遂键此文。
德国物理学家鲁本斯（Heinrich Rubens）站在四位巨人的肩膀上于1904发明出了鲁本斯焰管。
这根管两端是密封的，里面充满了可燃气体，那些小火苗在一排小洞上跳跃着。当扬声器挨上一端时，这些火苗会受控于扬声器，把声音的波形显示出来了。原理是，由于振动，管内高压的位置的孔会释放出更多的可燃气体，于是火焰就长高了，低压的地方就是低的。然后，你就可以去用尺子量波长了。

I found the Rubens' Tube is interesting last night on a scientific show from Germany. So I share the fantastic pipe here.
The Rubens' Tube was invented by Heinrich Rubens in 1904.
"A length of pipe is perforated along the top and sealed at both ends - one seal is attached to a small speaker or frequency generator, the other to a supply of a flammable gas(propane tank). The pipe is filled with the gas, and the gas leaking from the perforations is lit. If a constant frequency is used, a standing wave can form within the tube. When the speaker is turned on, the standing wave will create higher and lower pressure points along the tube. Where there is higher pressure due to the sound waves, more gas will escape from the perforations in the tube, and the flames will be higher at those points. In these cases, it is possible to determine the wavelength by simply measuring with a ruler." From wiki.

2057年的奔驰“银流”概念车 The Mercedes-Benz SilverFlow in 2057

这是2007年洛杉矶车展的汽车设计挑战赛的入围作品之一，奔驰的“银流(SilverFlow)”（翻得好烂）超前概念车。大赛主题是2057年的智能机械汽车(Robocar)。
这辆复古前卫的概念车由Gorden Wagener, John Gill and Kevin Kang设计。他们幻想这辆车可以变形，由超微金属颗粒、磁场和预先控制集成程序控制，以满足不同路况和需求，甚至在车祸和维修中起作用。外观请看图，金色的设计灵感来源于奔驰赛车历史上的黄金时期。


The SilverFlow concept of Mercedes-Benz is one of the entrants of the Los Angeles Auto Show Design Challenge 2007.

先来讲些坏消息：首先，大家期待已久（或许期待太久了 = =）的 Optimus 键盘将不会在 CeBit 上参展，没准备好就是没准备好，能怎么办呢？如果这消息还不够坏的话，那如果再说现在价格将不是 $1200 美元，而是 $1490 美元呢？大家放弃等待吧...如果看到这里还没有浇息你所有的热情，那我们倒是还有些别的消息在手上。首先 Optimus 改名的结果已经出来了，虽然我们很希望它是 Optimus Prime（变型金刚里的擎天柱的英文名字），但 Art Lebedev 决定叫它 Optimus Maximus（该翻成最强的 Maximus？）。再来，按键本身的 OLED 只有 5 年的预估寿命，而且为了减少损耗，「按键」本身是不动的，按键按下去时，只是外面的透明塑料套在滑动而已。按键坏了怎么办？一颗 $10 美金 -- 你会以为这么贵的键盘，应该会送一两颗备用按键才是 = =。喔，还有，Art Lebedev 说还有两、三个「简易版」的 OLED 键盘正在开发中，价格应该可以压在 $1000 美元以下 -- 如果你相信他们的话。
我觉得这是世界上最漂亮、最酷的键盘！
